Tapestry Privacy Policy

We understand that your personal information and privacy is important to you. We make every effort to ensure that the information you share with us is recorded accurately, retained securely, and used only according to your wishes. We protect your privacy and the confidentiality of your personal information in accordance with the 10 privacy principles set out in the Canadian Standards Association Model Code for the Protection of Personal Information and the federal Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act, which forms the basis of our privacy policy.

Accountability

Tapestry is responsible for personal information under its control. As such, we have designated a Tapestry staff member as Privacy Officer. He/she will ensure Tapestryπs overall compliance with our privacy policy.

Collecting Your Personal Information

During the course of our relationship we may collect some personal information. Most of this information is collected when you buy tickets or make a donation. It may come through your phone call, mail or email order or when you purchase tickets in person.

Personal information on Tapestry patrons may include: – Home and business address, telephone numbers, e-mail address – Age and birth date – Personal and public financial information – Purchasing and donating history – Professional and personal relationships, affiliations and activities – Artistic preferences and other personal interests – Patron communications such as letters or verbal feedback – Methods and preferences of communications

Identifying Purposes for Collecting Your Personal Information

Tapestry collects your personal information for billing purposes, to mail your tickets, to contact you about schedule changes, upcoming events and special offers: in short, to provide the level of service you have come to expect from us. Unless required by law, Tapestry will never use or disclose your information for a new purpose without identifying the purpose and/or obtaining your consent. Upon request, Tapestry staff shall explain these identified purposes at the time of the collection or refer you to our contact person for more information.

Consent

Tapestry makes a reasonable effort to ensure that you understand why we collect, use or disclose your information. Consent for the collection, use, disclosure and retention of your personal patron information is implicit when you provide us your personal information for all of our identified purposes. You have the right to withdraw your consent at any time.

Limiting Collection of Your Personal Information

Tapestry only collects your personal information for the purposes we have identified in our privacy policy and by fair and lawful means. We limit the amount of information we collect to the amount necessary to provide you with our services.

Limiting Use, Disclosure and Retention

Generally, Tapestry shall not use or disclose your personal information for unidentified purposes without obtaining your consent or except as required by law. For example, we may use your information to build a profile of our audience for future programming or marketing and fundraising initiatives. Tapestry patron information is never sold. On occasion, we may exchange names from our mailing list with other cultural organizations that we feel would be of interest to our patrons. We are committed to ensuring that Tapestry patrons and donors do not receive an unreasonable number of letters or phone calls. Otherwise, we shall never disclose your information to a third party without your consent or unless it is required by law. Tapestry shall retain your personal information no longer than necessary or relevant to fulfill the identified purposes. As such, we take great security precautions when disposing and destroying your information.

Tapestry will make every effort to ensure that the information we collect about you is accurate, complete and up-to-date. We update your personal information so that we may rely on appropriate information to provide you with quality customer service.

Security Safeguards

Tapestry is committed to protecting your personal information against loss, theft, unauthorized access, disclosure, copying, use, modification or destruction. We use appropriate physical, organizational and technological measures to respect the confidentiality of your information. In addition, we require all of our employees to respect the confidentiality of your personal information. Only authorized personnel have access to your personal information.

If we need to share your information with an outside organization (such as a mailhouse), we will bind them to the same strict privacy controls that we use ourselves. The information we provide to them is for one-time use only.
