This Saturday – Tapestry airing on the CBC
During the first half our of the CBC Radio Two programme Saturday Afternoon at the Opera will air New Opera – a segment produced by Madonna Hamel which explores new ways to listen to opera – featuring thoughts and opinions from Tapestry artists and audience members.
Hamel interviewed people – and had them interview each other – at Opera Briefs in September, which was performed in The Ernest Balmer Studio, on the Pure Spirits Stage in the Distillery during Nuit Blanche and at The Word on the Street Festival in Queen’s Park. She also worked her magic at the Elijah’s Kite performance hosted by PREVNet at Glenn Gould Studio in October and at The Ambient Opera Society’s Opera on the Rocks performance earlier this month at Pauper’s Pub.
The programme will also be aired online at the CBC Radio 2 website http://www.cbc.ca/radio2/.
